STATUS & STRUCTURE
The Good Grub initiative is exclusively targeted at supporting DEIS School Families in disadvantaged areas until such time as the COVID-19 emergency is brought under control and school children are safely back at school where they will receive breakfast and lunch. It is not possible to predict with certainty what this period will be. However, it is estimated that the project will continue for a period of three to four months from the time of inception of Good Grub.

There is a strong desire from those behind the project to apply the highest degree of rigour and governance to the structures underpinning the project for its anticipated short duration. Our Charity Partner is Aisling Project and we will be following their charity guidelines throughout this project. To this end Good Grub has created an Advisory Group composed of experienced professionals from different industries which will meet on a regular basis with a view to ensuring that best practice is maintained in all facets of the operation and governance of the project.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Good Grub initiative is a not-for profit initiative developed to deliver nutritious fruit & veg parcels directly to families of disadvantaged school children in Dublin. These children attend what are known as DEIS schools. DEIS is a national programme that addresses the needs of children and young adults in disadvantaged communities.

The Good Grub initiative is exclusively targeted at supporting these DEIS School Families in various disadvantaged areas of Dublin until such time as the COVID-19 emergency is brought under control. Hopefully, these school children will soon be back in school where they will again receive a breakfast and lunch. Of course it is not possible to predict when this will happen, however we have estimated that the project will continue for a period of three to four months from the time of inception.

The Good Grub initiative will be maintained by an experienced group of professionals, ensuring best practice for the duration.

FUNDING
The Good Grub initiative is funded entirely by donations made by the public and corporate organisations. Monetary donations are principally received and aggregated though the Good Grub “Go-Fund-Me” web-page. All monetary donations are managed by our Charity Partners, Aisling Project, registered Charity Number: CHY 14774.

All funds donated (less GoFundMe charges) go directly to Aisling Project who in turn pay all suppliers. In addition to monetary donations, Good Grub has received some very generous offers of support in kind from the public.

As highlighted above, given the intended short duration of the project, Good Grub anticipates that all funds raised will be fully deployed by the time the project reaches its conclusion.

However, to the extent that, for whatever reason, not all monetary resources available to Good Grub have not been deployed by that stage, all surplus funds will be used by Aisling Project in their ongoing support of children and young people.

Together with the Advisory Group, Good Grub is supported by a team of volunteers involved in the fundraising, project management, communications, and logistics elements of the project. Everyone involved in Good Grub is participating on a completely voluntary basis and is receiving no remuneration or other personal advantage in return

PROCUREMENT OF SERVICES
Every effort will be taken to ensure that the procurement process for third party services by Good Grub is transparent, without personal bias or favouritism and that it achieves maximum value for the proceeds which are donated to the project.

Our lead supplier is Glanmore Foods who will be procuring fresh fruit and veg product from their suppliers, packing and distributing to DEIS Schools Families via DEIS Schools. Glanmore Foods will be providing this service at cost.

Good Grub will listen and respond to the views of the general public and its supporters with a view to delivering the maximum success for the project.
